Hello,  I am been so busy with my sons wedding.  It was so much fun.

Bill and I put on the reheasal dinner and I made this cute pumpkin for center pieces.  I had help from my friends, we made 5.  They were such a hit that I had a class today.  Everyone is just loving this pumpkin.  Great for Hallowween and Thanksgiving.  I am attaching the directions in case you want to try your hand at it.  I got the idea and basic pattern from Archivers, then the more I made the pumpkin the more alterations I made.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I like it.

Sorry the picture at the bottom is turned the wrong way.  If anyone knows how to correct this in a blog please let me know.  I have imported it in two directions.  Nothing works.

Materials Needed:
• Orange cardstock or patterned paper -- 8 sheets
Brown cardstock or patterned paper -- 1 sheet
Green cardstock or patterned paper -- 1 sheet
Perfect Pearls mist -- Ranger (6081028)
Gold stickles
Chocolate or Coco CTMH Ink or
Martha Stewart glue with stick plus orange glitter
Glue Sticks (hot glue gun)
Dry adhesive, such as a tape runner
Suggested Tools
Martha Stewart Scoring Board -- EK Success
Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors -- EK Success
CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge
Glue Gun
Sponge or CTMH daubers
Martha Stewart, fringe scissors
Paper Trimmer
Plug in glue gun.

Punch twenty 1" circles out of cardstock or patterned paper. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. (Note: color doesn't matter, as they will not be seen once pumpkin is completed, except for the top one, make to match paper.)

Score all pieces of pumpkin base paper at the ½” marks.
Cut cardstock or patterned paper (for pumpkin) to the following:
 (2 pieces) - 1 1/2" x 12", (3) - 2 3/4" x 12", (3) - 3" x 12",
(12) - 3 1/4" x 12", (3) - 3 1/2" x 12", (3) - 2 1/2" x 12", and (2) - 1 3/4" x 12".

Ink edges of cardstock if desired. Use CTMH ink and sponge/dauber. Skip this part if you prefer glitter like I prefer glitter. Don’t glitter yet.

Starting with the three 3 1/2" x 12" pieces of scored and cut cardstock, adhere ends together with a tape runner and create a rosette. (Rosette How-To Video: This will be the center rosette in the pumpkin.

Continue making rosettes, using the following pieces to create rosettes:
 (2 pieces) - 1 1/2" x 12", (3) - 2 3/4" x 12", (3) - 3" x 12", (3) - 3 1/4" x 12", (3) - 3 1/4" x 12", (3) - 3 1/4" x 12", (3) - 3 1/4" x 12", (3) - 2 1/2" x 12", and (2) - 1 3/4" x 12". A total of 10 rosettes will be made. (Note: Number of rosettes can be changed to alter the look of the pumpkin.)

Using a hot glue gun, glue a 1” circle in the center of each rosette, top and bottom.

Glitter ½ “ edge of each rosette.  (use as much or little of glitter as you like)

Adhere rosettes together to create a pumpkin, using glue gun.

I used the following sizes from bottom to top. 2.5, 3.25, 3.25, 3.5, 3.25, 3.25, 3, 2.75, 1.75, 1.5.

To create the stem, cut three 1 1/2" x 3" strips of brown paper or cardstock using the fringe scissors.

Roll the first strip into a tight circle, and adhere then next strip using the glue gun. Keep adding strips as desired. Set aside.

Leaves: Cut 5 leaves with stems from the CTMH artist cartridge. Using gold stickles. Make veins and draw on the swirl part.  Let dry.

Paper Curls: Cut 1/8" strips of green cardstock and wrap around a pencil to curl.
Adhere paper curls and leaves to top of pumpkin (alternate the leaves and curls).

Adhere stem to pumpkin.

Spray with Perfect Pearls.

Layouts of Chicago with Florentine Paper

Weekend scrap getaway March 2012

Hello everyone,  I just came back from a wonderful weekend retreat with a few friends.  We went to Memories Manor in St Clair Michigan.  It's always a good time to relax, laugh and crop with friends.

I want to share with you a couple pages that I made with CTMH products.  I have found a new neutral color.  Yes, Creme Brulee.  I really want to begin downsizing what I take with me to scrap getaways.  So I brought chocolate, black, a couple blues, sweet leaf, colonial white, white daisy and yes creme brulee.  I think creme brulee ended up in each paper theme.  I did bring a couple different level 2 packs that also include coordinating solids.  I was so amazed on the versatility of the paper packs.  Didn't know what layouts I would use the paperpacks for but working on Chicago a few work fantastic.
